Getting To Auckland

Transportation Options from the Airport.

Once you’ve landed at Auckland Airport, you’re just a 30–45 minute journey away from the heart of the city.

Taxi’s and Uber

Once you have reached the arrivals terminal, it’s a short walk to the taxi/rideshare pick-up zone.

There should be signs to guide you but if you cannot find them, click here for Uber’s detailed instructions.

Please Note: You cannot pre-book an Uber from the airport due to local restrictions. This rule is in place to maintain fairness for taxi drivers. You’ll need to request your Uber once you’ve arrived and are ready to be picked up.

SkyDrive

SkyDrive offers an express shuttle service between Auckland Airport and SkyCity in Central Auckland.

You can purchase tickets in advance through their website.

However, unless you’re travelling by yourself, we don’t recommend catching the bus or another form of public transport as there’s not much difference in price when you’re paying for 2 or more people and you’ll save yourself a lot of hassle.

What If I Arrive Late at Night?

If your flight arrives in the evening and you’re planning to stay on Waiheke before the wedding, we recommend staying at the Novotel Auckland Airport for the night.

It is connected directly to the international terminal and gives you the chance to rest, have a leisurely breakfast, and then make your way into the city to catch a midday ferry without stress.

Getting To Waiheke

Once you reach Auckland CBD, you’ll catch a ferry from the Downtown Auckland Ferry Terminal to Waiheke Island. We’ve written up step-by-step instructions on catching the ferry which you can find via the button below.
