Getting To Waiheke Island
Enjoy A Scenic Ferry Trip Out To Waiheke
To help make your journey to our wedding as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we’ve put together this guide for getting to Waiheke Island from Auckland CBD.
Whether you’re staying on the island or travelling on the wedding day itself, here’s everything you need to know.
Ferry Terminal Location
The ferry to Waiheke Island departs from the Downtown Ferry Terminal (also called Pier 2), located at:
You’ll see signs for Fullers360. This is the company operating the Waiheke Island ferry.
Where to Buy Ferry Tickets
Tickets can be purchased in several ways:
Online: https://www.fullers.co.nz/
Fullers360 App
At the Terminal
We recommend buying tickets in advance if you’re travelling on the day of the wedding or if you’re travelling on the weekend.
Ferry Operating Times & Boarding Information
Ferries run frequently throughout the day, typically every 30–60 minutes from early morning to late evening.
The exact schedule can vary slightly, so we recommend checking Fullers360’s timetable closer to your travel date.
Important:
The ferry operates on a first come, first served basis, even if you’ve pre-purchased tickets. Your ticket does not guarantee a seat on a specific sailing.
We highly recommend arriving at the terminal at least 45 minutes before your intended departure, especially if you’re travelling on the day of the wedding.
For wedding day travel, we recommend catching the 2:00 PM ferry to ensure plenty of buffer time.
Long queues are common, especially in good weather or on weekends, so arriving early is essential to avoid delays.
