If you’re looking for a relaxing, sun-soaked base for your trip to Waiheke Island, Palm Beach is an absolute gem.
It’s perfectly situated. In one direction, it’s a 10 minute bus trip into Oneroa township. In the other direction, you’re 10 minutes away from a cluster of the islands best vineyards as well as The Heke – a popular local distillery.
What makes Palm Beach special?
Palm Beach is named for the stately Phoenix palms that line the back of the beach, giving it a laid-back, resort-style vibe. The beach itself is a safe swimming spot with gentle waves, soft white sand, and clear waters that invite early morning dips and sunset strolls.
💡 Quick Tip: There are two sections of the beach. Palm Beach is on the east side. Hidden behind scattered rocks on the west side is Little Palm Beach. This is a very popular nudist beach. We thought we’d warn you so you don’t get a shock on your morning walk.
